Flag Football

For boys and girls ages 7 & 8, flag football is as much fun for parents, grandparents and other fans as it is for the kids. Players will learn basic football skills and fundamental teamwork concepts. Score and standings are not kept. These are the games you’ll remember forever.

Tackle Football

For boys and girls ages 9 to 12. Teams are organized by age, so 9 year olds play only against other 9 year olds, 10′s with 10′s and so on.
Players continue to build on fundamental skills and progress to more advanced skills as they get older. Coaches emphasize teamwork and good sportsmanship. All players are required to play a minimum of 5 plays per half, ensuring participation and parity among the teams.
Juniors (11′s) and Seniors (12′s) have the opportunity to qualify for post season play and the Boise Optimist Championship.

Cheerleading

Cheerleading is offered to children ages 7 to 12. Cheerleaders will learn cheers, chants, dance routines and sideline etiquette. Cheer Camp in July is offered for all to attend. We will also feature special Performance Squads for all cheerleaders with a special performance planned for the end of the season. Spirit squad for ages 7 to 9 and Elite squad for ages 10 to 12.

Many of our players come in as 7 year old flag players and play on the same team for 6 years. They form friendships that carry them through high school and beyond. Nampa Optimist Football is dedicated to helping kids create lasting memories of fun as well as concepts of teamwork, discipline and integrity that they will carry with them the rest of their lives.
